Top Female Managers-Making a Big Splash at Work

Making a Big SplashFemale executives today are earning on average $100,000 more per year than their male counterparts, though their are less of them in the top positions because they leave and change jobs more frequently.  There are many reasons for this happening, including their choosing early retirement, yet it is often in companies where they have not been recognized for promotions as commonly as men.  Click on this link for details.

Even so, there are companies who stand out and recognize the achievements of women.  For women in these companies, they now have the freedom to stay and move into more top level positions and continue to make signficant contributions or still retire early, but not due to any diversity issue, unfairness in job assignment, or false expectations of behavior.  The VP for global inclusion at Baxter Healthcare says, “Having women in corporate leadership positions provides roles for the next generation of leaders in the organization.  Employees see that it is possible for everyone to achieve their career aspirations without having to look and act the same.” (click on this link).

In my coaching, I don’t hear as many women today talk about the lack of opportunity in their work environment, but it is often about how to position themselves in the best light.  Even so, we may never have an equal score in a predominately male workforce environment, but women are making big waves and positive changes that allow them the career opportunities they seek.
