Why Hire a Career Strategist?
Today’s Los Angeles Times has a picture of an estimated 4,000 people lining up for an employment fair in Rancho Cucamonga – the largest record of this six year event. It’s not surprising, given that California’s jobless rate hit 10.5% in February, one of the highest in the nation. AARP Financial’s recent survey found that most of us are caught off guard in crisis situations, including loss of employment, which could often be remedied if we were better prepared. For those surveyed, 44% were angry at themselves for not doing just that.
A Career Strategist’s job is to help you clear away the fog so you can stay emotionally even, and with their support, you can accurately assess your situation. They will help you to ask questions and look for solutions in areas you had not considered. They will help you do both creative and critical thinking and save you time you might otherwise waste on old methods of career searching and engage you in more direct routes for today’s career marketplace.
It can be scary to spend time and money upfront on something that could appear as seemingly vague as “advice,” when you can’t be sure that it will get you where you want. Fortunately, my client’s are pleased they’ve made the leap of faith.
